Oceano Dunes State Park Information:
The Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area (ODSVRA), formerly known as Pismo Beach, is located approximately half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. This wonderful dune habitat has been open to the public and used for OHV use for decades.
There is a lot of great information located at the ODSVRA website.
Always research the tide information. During high tides, the river is deeper and there is less hard pack beach to drive on. Many will air their tires down to increase flotation on the sand to reduce the possibility of getting stuck. In addition, storms have a tendancy to push the tides higher than predicted in the tide books.
