Oceano Dunes State Park Information:
The Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area (ODSVRA), formerly known as Pismo Beach, is located approximately half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. This wonderful dune habitat has been open to the public and used for OHV use for decades.

Always research the tide information. During high tides, the river is deeper and there is less hard pack beach to drive on. Many will air their tires down to increase flotation on the sand to reduce the possibility of getting stuck. In addition, storms have a tendancy to push the tides higher than predicted in the tide books.

State Park Communication Center dial:
(805) 473-7220, or dial 911 from any phone and your call can be transferred to the State Park Communications center. The communication center is in operation 24 hours, daily.
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff dial:
(805) 781-4550. Available 24 hours.
Ambulance response dial:
(911). You will reach the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff.
Arroyo Grande Community Hospital dial:
(805) 489-4261.
If you Dial 911 on a cell phone you will be connected to the San Luis Obispo CHP. They can transfer your call to the State Park Communication center.
